28th May Session

Hi everyone,

We talked at the last session about playing a gig in the first week of June but the venue is not available unfortunately. We will have a chat about this at the next session.

So instead of a gig we are going to have a themed evening and the theme is…….. ‘Weather’! All the tracks mention it in some way or other. Here is the set –

Bad Moon Rising (G), Bring me Sunshine (G), Fats Domino Medley (C), Here comes the Sun (G), In the Summertime (C), Make you feel my Love (G), Mr Blue Sky (F), Rawhide (A minor), Rhinestone Cowboy (C),  Riders on the Storm (Em), She (C), Sunny Afternoon (Dm), Under the Boardwalk (C), Walking on Sunshine (D), Weather with You (Em), What a Wonderful World (C)

Hope to see lots of you there, new members are always welcome, it’s fun and relaxed and if you know a few chords and can strum a bit you’ll be fine. And please feel free to come back again if you haven’t joined us for a while!

Next session and gig news…

Hi everybody

We have a gig booked! It is on the 27th March at the George Evelyn Open Mic Night in Long Ditton; I think we will be on at around 8 30.

I’ve got next weeks set for the group session (on the 20th) sorted out and the seven song set for the gig will come from it, so if anyone wants to do a bit of practise then they can. But the gig really is nothing to worry about for any of you who haven’t played before – not only is there safety in numbers but also the crowd who come to these nights are very friendly. And the word ‘crowd’ is an exaggeration.

Don’t worry if you can’t/aren’t sure about/definitely don’t want to do the gig – everyone is welcome to the session at the library as normal.

Anyway, next weeks set list –

And then I Kissed Her, Bad Moon Rising, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Come on up to the House, Everyday, Folsom Prison Blues/Pinball Wizard, Goody Two Shoes, Happy Together, Hound Dog, Living Doll, Rocking all over the World, Sloop John B, Stuck in the Middle with you, Sunny Afternoon, These Boots are made for Walking.

Thanks to Kate and Martin for their input on this list!
